Form Factor/Type - The physical size of the hardware components in your system. For example, the form factor for an SSD might be 2.5 inches or 1.8 inches, which tells you the dimensions of the SSD. It's a type of interface that connects a storage device or optical drive to your computer's motherboard—think of it like an umbilical cord because it allows data to flow between the two. SATA is measured by how fast data transfers to/from the device. There are three SATA speeds, SATA I (1.5Gb/s), SATA II (3.0Gb/s) and SATA III (6.0Gb/s). Write - In computer terms, 'write' refers to how quickly a piece of data can be saved to a storage device (saving a document is an example of a write function). Support immediately sent me a fix, which allowed the software to run HOWEVER I wasn't able to use it because of the my disk sector size wasn't compatible for the software to clone from. I again called support and they immediately guided me through an alternate way. This is one time that a call to a Customer Support group really was a pleasure and more importantly - FAST. Installed this SSD to replace a friend's laptop HDD where Windows had corrupted. Given that the laptop is taken back and forth to the beach and could be subjected to bumps and shocks, recommended that we take the opportunity to replace the HDD with this SSD to drastically reduce chances of future issues with shock induced corruption as well as get a huge speed increase. Hardest part of the install was gaining access to the Drive compartment in this device. The SSD connection and Windows installation was a piece of cake. Windows boots and runs MUCH faster now. I got my Son a new gaming system for X-mas and decided to rebuild his old gaming laptop to use it for myself (non-gaming). I purchased a Crucial MX500 250GB SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD to replace the very slow 640GB Western Digital 5400 RPM Hard Drive in my Son's old Asus G73JH-BST7 gaming laptop. I also purchased the SATA-to-USB 3.0 Cable from Crucial. I first installed a new copy of Windows 10 and deleted everything on the old Asus, and then installed all updates (drivers, etc.). I then followed the instructions from Crucial 'How to install a Crucial® SSD in your computer' and cloned the Western Digital hard drive to the SSD using the cable and the Acronis True Image for Crucial software. It restarted and everything works fine, the performance speed is now GREAT. Note: I did not reinstall the original Western Digital hard drive to the second slot, I using the SSD for everything.
